The Apothecaries Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organization with a research focus and a global outlook. It exists to support rigorous scientific inquiry into interventions that sit at the interface of traditional knowledge and contemporary medicine. The Foundation is science-driven and public-health oriented. It does not manufacture, market, or sell products, and it does not act as a commercial sponsor. Its role is to convene, fund where appropriate, and govern research that meets accepted scientific standards.

Mission Pillars

The Foundation organizes its work around seven pillars that together describe its purpose and its method.

  • Evidence Generation. Producing objective, reproducible data through well-designed studies.

  • Scientific Excellence. Applying accepted methodological and analytical standards without exception.

  • Patient Benefit. Keeping the interests, safety, and welfare of participants at the center of every study.

  • Medical Innovation. Supporting the disciplined study of interventions that have not yet been fully characterized.

  • Global Health Equity. Extending research capacity and participation to settings that are often underrepresented in clinical research.

  • Integrative Research. Studying traditional and natural interventions with the same rigor applied elsewhere in medicine.

  • Knowledge Translation. Communicating findings clearly so that they can inform scientific and clinical discussion.

How the Foundation Works with Partners

The Foundation operates through collaboration rather than through any single institution. It works with academic institutions, hospitals, individual researchers, public health agencies, medical associations, healthcare systems, and scientific societies. Partnerships are structured to preserve the independence of investigators and the integrity of the scientific process. The Foundation seeks to add value by providing methodological support, coordination across sites, and independent oversight, while leaving clinical judgment and scientific interpretation to qualified investigators and review bodies.

The Foundation holds itself responsible and accountable to the public, and remains available to clinical research participants subjects to review their grievances and to intervene where necessary.

Apothecaries Foundation being a non-profit organization is operating on a zero-budget i.e. by meeting its minimal operational costs through its beneficiaries.  We need your help to achieve our objectives.
